This is an ITALJET Pack-A -Way folding scooter first registered in 1978. These are now quite a rare find and collectable, especially in this condition. The bike has a Motori F. Morini 49cc two-stroke engine which starts and runs. It has a fully automatic gearbox (twist & go), drum brakes front and rear and working front and rear lights. The handlebars and seat fold down making a very small package for transportation and storage.
The odometer shows 140 miles and this is believed to be the genuine mileage. The bike is road legal, was last MOT'd in April 2016, and is currently on a SORN. It will do 30-35mph on the road and has been used for short runs until recently. The V5 is in my name and it shows 5 previous keepers.
There are some age related scuffs, scratches and some minor corrosion - please see the pictures. The rear of the seat is slightly cracked/torn (still perfectly usable), and it has a non-standard brake lever on the left. The speedo has a crack in the plastic cover. The paintwork has some scratches / marks and some small bits of light surface rust as does the chrome work. Please remember it is a used bike from the 1970's so it is not mint condition, but that said, everything works as it should .
This bike was bought as a non-runner and it and has had lots of new parts fitted;
- New spring for kick start
- New spring for centre stand
- Cylinder head gasket
- Cylinder base gasket
- Inlet gasket
- Exhaust gasket
- Carburettor float & inlet needle
- New front tyre & tube
- New brake lever
- New Ignition Coil
- New Ignition lead and spark plug
Great fun for kids and adults alike.
