For sale is my 1984 Porsche 924 2.0l Coupe in Alpine White with black interior.
I bought it three years ago as a car that i have always wanted. I am now moving on to something different so now I’m reluctantly parting with it.
It was well specced when new so it’s fitted with electric windows and mirrors.
Before I placed the car off the road in October I used it as my daily driver doing between 10 and 25 miles a day. The car has never failed to start every morning, has taken me all over the country and has been very reliable.
During the 3 years i have owned it, it has been serviced regularly and any wear and tear items that needed replacing have been.
During ownership, I have replaced or fitted:- fitted braided stainless steel brake hoses, had the nearside sill welded due to corrosion.
I have replaced;
Braided brake hoses all round
The timing belt and tensioner in 10/2014
The water pump
The rotor arm distributor and HT leads
The rear brake cylinders
All wheel bearings
The rear hatch/ boot latches and Pins
The clutch cable
All 4 tyres( with michelin) just before I finished driving the car (virtually brand new)
Its done 142,000 miles but the lovely 2.0, 4 cylinder engine is still extremely smooth and is bulletproof – It goes, stops and handles as it should, and has never failed to put a smile on my face.
I have a file full of history and receipts going back to 1991, and as you can see from the pictures the original service book is still with the car.
Negatives, and every car has them, the bodywork is reasonable for its age, but I have damaged the the offside front wing (see photo) and I had one of the sills repaired for mot.
I should also mention the rear suspension beam, which during the last few months of driving has started to stiffen. The rear shock absorbers were both changed before i purchased the car so the beam may need attention - still drives fine though.
The interior is in good shape, carpets and Porsche scripted seats are tidy, but the passenger window switch is not working (a common fault), not a massive problem as it can still be operated from the drivers side. The is some rust in the rear arches that i have shown in the images.
In summary, a fun, appreciating classic, with 12 months mot, which being honest needs a small amount of work, but is perfectly usable as it is.
