For sale, through JOHN BROWN 4X4 LTD, Land Rover® Series 1 86" in Deep Bronze Green (1955).
Full Nut and Bolt Rebuild done by our in-house team. MOT Exempt, Tax Exempt. 1997cc Petrol.
Here for sale, we are delighted to present this stunning in-house rebuild which we have just completed. This involved stripping the original vehicle back down to the bare chassis. All parts were disassembled, including engine and gearbox, prior to restoration and reassembly. Many new parts are used during this process, and if not replaced, parts are reconditioned fully prior to rebuild.
Brand new springs, shocks, fuel tank, brakes, swivels and axles have been added just to name some of the new major parts which have been included as part of the full rebuild process.
On the inside, the vehicle is of an 'as new' standard - everything has been 'put back' to how the vehicle would've been on the showroom floor back in the day, and the interior finish is identical to the outside in terms of both quality and paint finish. A new set of correct, period seats have been added to complete the look. A single wiper, just like the vehicle had when it was new, is present. Even the galvanising on the inside of the doors is new - and the rear load space, although unfitted, continues in the same vein.
On the outside, the vehicle has many nice period features, such as a bonnet mounted spare, correct period mirrors, and all the galvanised cappings on the vehicle have been re-galvanised during the rebuild process. The vehicle also benefits from a new canvas. Everywhere you look on this vehicle, you can see the finer details have been attended to; new bonnet catches, new rear lights and a newly galvanised front bumper. The bodywork and paintwork are also a delight to behold - this really is one pretty vehicle.
Under the bonnet, the full engine rebuild (to the tune of over £5000) really shows - the detail under the bonnet is second to none.... the engine runs sweetly and is in an as new condition - a new speedo has been fitted to reflect miles completed since rebuild, and it currently sits at 6 miles on the clock. Out on the road, the vehicle pulls like no other 86" Series 1 we have ever seen or sold previously.
In summary then, this vehicle is a rare opportunity to acquire an 'as new' Land Rover® Series 1 86". We believe it to be the best example of this variant for sale today anywhere in the world. This vehicle would be ideal for investment, for use in show competitions, or as part of a private collection of vehicles. With Land Rover® Reborn Projects commanding in excess six figures for Series Ones, we think this rebuild reflects superb value for money.
