Land Rover LWB Safari series 3 1972 SOLD
I am selling my series 3 LWB Safari 1972 white 2.25 ford diesel engine tax free Land Rover. I have owned it for a little over a year and sorted out all the problems that I inherited.
I have fitted all new spring bushes, she has new brake shoes and cylinders all round plus a master cylinder. The handbrake has new shoes and actuator, took her for an MOT in March and only needed two small bits of welding on the front bumper brackets and two small bits on the chassis no advisories so she has a 11 month MOT. I fitted a reversing switch and fixed the reversing gate at the same time. The tyres as you can see from the pictures are as new I put them on last year and as I only do very little miles they are still as new. She is fitted with a Fairley overdrive and free wheeling hubs. She has a ford transit engine in her, starts first time and drives great, the milometer shows over 26000 miles, but I think as she is over 45 years old you would not be wrong in thinking this is not correct. The middle front seat back is a swab and not a proper back part, all the electrics work. There are 4 side steps that work well but could do with freeing up, the drivers one requires a bit of weld on it and it will be good. The dash top requires a little TLC, I have also fitted a rear wiper assembly. There are three spare wheels, one up front, one on the back door and one other, they are not the same as fitted on her but are in very good order with plenty of tread. All the window runners have been replaced and work well. There is a full length roof rack and rear ladder as you can see from the pictures. Feel free to ask me any questions as I am sure there is something I have forgotten. Ow the horse shoe on the front grill are not in the sale and will be removed.
