I am only the second owner from new and have owned it for the past eight years I had always wanted one as I had my photo taken in one on Clacton pier as a small child .
The car has an interesting history,I also have the original bill of sale from the British Motor Corporation where the lucky first owners father worked as factory manager, pictures exist in the Industrial Museum of Wales with Prince Charles sitting in (on)it on the Britih Leyland stand at the 1977 Aberdare motor show.
It is totaly original with all the metal work, uphostery etc as good as it left the factory, howevever when it was new it did return to the factory to be repainted in the unique colour of Brooklands Green which is documented in the history and logged with the owners club making it the only green one that left the factory .The paintwork is now 50yrs old so whilst it is "shiny" it tells the story of its life (some like to call it patina) but their is absolutely no rot. Everthing is original with NO reproduction parts the chassis number is present in the boot ,I have had the wheels powder coated in the original colour and new tubes fitted the original bumpers were also rechromed.
Reluctantly offered for sale due to personal cicumstances.
Quite possibly the only J40 with this provenance hence not the cheapest, please call me if you need any further information
