Lancia Fulvia Rallye Series 1. Restoration project.
Series 1 cars are the model to have they are just how Lancia intended them to be,unlike the later series 2 and 3 cars that had a large Fiat influence (money saving). South African Fulvias just like the original Italian models had the much prettier same level headlights unlike the UK s2 and s3 cars that had raised outer headlights, due to UK legislation at the time.
If you can afford a HF or even a Fanalone then great, but if not, a Series 1 Rallye is about as close as you can get.
UK registered with a V5 and age related number plate.Correctly registered as a "Fulvia Coupe" on an"E" plate. Mot and tax exempt due to being over 40 years old.
Indicated mileage is 27169 kilometers, that means nothing without any service history, but you never know?.The car was last taxed in 2008 and i was told it was off the road for many years before that (the South African sorn system is a nightmare so many just keep paying the road tax).
This Fulvia was recently imported from sunny Johannesburg South Africa, the climate has preserved this car very well.
Alloy doors, bonnet and bootlid. The alloy panels on a series 1 Rallye are not just an outer aluminium skin, the whole frame is also aluminium, which adds up to quite a weight saving. The alloy panels are highly sort after.
It is shocking how rust free this car is!!!
A genuine Rallye model.
I can see no signs of previous welding.
Floors look unwelded and very solid (may need some small work).
Headlights are original Hella and unusually they look almost new.
This car is not full of filler. The panels are dead straight.
I believe it was repainted once many years ago.
No engine or gearbox, but the crankcase is included with the correct engine number. The boot is full up with many old parts, crankshaft (very rusty),pistons, crankcase, etc.
The wheels are series 2 but the car has the correct series 1 hubs, the wheels were just loosely fitted to be able to roll the car.
There is a 3 inch hole at the very front of the off side sill, which can be seen inside the front wheel arch.
Car is a restoration project.
Small dent on near side rear quarter, due to shipping.
