Rolls Royce Silver Shadow 1973 For Sale
Finished in its original specification of Seychelles metallic blue with navy leather and French blue twin fine lines.
Lambswool over rugs in royal blue and rear foot rests, over immaculate navy blue carpets bound in blue leather, with grey leather headlining that still looks brand new.
The navy leather appears to be completely original having never been connolised, clearly as a result of low mileage and careful use. It now has a lovely patina which has taken 45 years to create and the car still retains a plump drivers seat cushion.
Rear inertia reel seatbelts fitted.
Now road tax and MOT exempt as historic classification. There are 25 mot’s present in the file, with the stated mileage’s matching the service intervals.
This car is now on its third service book, totalling 18 service stamps. There is also a further file of invoices from noted Rolls Royce specialists Hadley Green, D. W. Haines and P&A Wood and silver Lady, dating from 1990 - 2018. These invoices total over £19, 000 which was lavished on the car, over a mere 17, 000 miles covered in that 28 year period.
During my ownership I have had the car inspected by Silver Lady in Brentwood and had the following work undertaken to ensure my car continues to run perfectly:
Engine oil and filter change, brake fluid change, system bleed, accumulator replaced and pressure test.
All spark plugs replaced.
Carbs dismantled and serviced.
The service book stamps are as follows:

The original purchase delivery note and warranty papers to the first owner are also in the complete owners book pack, together with a card confirming the original specification of the car of Seychelles over navy. The original and correct red owners manual also has the cars details written on the inside cover, noting the matching engine and chassis number SRH 15166.
Only three people have owned this car in total, including myself. There is a dvla archive file present which confirms that the first owner took delivery from Mann Egerton Rolls Royce in 1973. He kept the car for 17 years and only had it serviced by the supplying dealers in York Way, London. He initially registered the car to his company, Bardiger Ltd, then to himself, Harry Bardiger, then back to the company, then finally back to himself before parting with the car in 1990. Please note that this of course created four registered keepers for the same person with dvla. The first owner therefore had the car for 17 years covering 50K miles. The second owner then had the car for 28 years covering just 17K miles. I am the third owner, making me registered keeper number six.
MVB 567L is detailed on the HPI register as never having a number plate transfer. This is further evidenced by the registration number being etched on every pane of its original glass in identical fonts. The register also confirms that the registration has never been written off, exported, imported, scrapped, destroyed, stolen or undergone a Vehicle Inspection Certificate.
The original tool kit, together with the jack and wheel brace in its case are present in the immaculate boot. The recent battery is still housed in its battery box with the intact check strap.
Supplying dealer and service stickers from Mann Egerton are still retained on the owners book pack and on the hydraulic reservoir, and are even still in place inside the drivers door shut. There are also service stickers on the A pillar quarter glass from Mann Egerton and Hadley Green Rolls Royce.
Fully functioning air conditioning system which I had serviced by an air con refrigeration engineer who understands these old systems. The temperature sensor ensures that the compressor cuts in and out correctly. Even the explanation overlay card for the controls is still retained in the book pack.
Excellent wood work, including the front and rear screen wood, with the original correct dash configuration of the eight track player and the separate radio. Even the original manuals for both audio devices are still present in the owners book pack. There are even invoices for servicing for the eight track and radio from a period radio specialist.
Rolls Royce Silver Shadow sales brochure dated 1972 present in the file. There is also a period ad for a Silver Shadow from the supplying agents Mann Egerton of Berkeley Street, London.
All electrics working, including all four windows, the central locking, radio aerial, electric seats, fuel filler cap release and even the boot unlock button in the glove box.
All interior lights working, including the courtesy lights, map and vanity mirror lights and door lights. Even the bonnet interior inspection light is working, which speaks volumes for the car. When you examine the car in depth by pulling back the immaculate carpets and examining the floors, you can tell that the car has not been pulled apart over the years. A tell tale sign is the fuse box which is clean and free from body shop filler dust and still retains its original spare fuse wire reel.
Two hexagonal head Yale master keys with correct matching period Rolls Royce leather key rings.
Correct Avon black wall tyres, with no cracking, splitting or perishing on the tyre walls.
The car has a tailored fleece lined Rolls Royce indoor cover, complete with the Rolls Royce logo on the bonnet section and a mascot pouch.
Low mileage Silver Shadows with full RR service history in attractive non dating colours are now highly sought after as they are both iconic and represent excellent quality and value in a classic car. There is also now strong investment potential for good examples of the Silver Shadow as well maintained examples can be regularly enjoyed with everyday turn key usability.
As a direct result of its ownership, servicing and mileage, my car has great character and an original, unmolested integrity. It is both correct and lovely to drive, a combination of qualities now rarely found in a Silver Shadow, especially in this price bracket.
