1965 Triumph Herald Est. *DEPOSIT TAKEN* One Owner! SOLD

It is with a heavy heart that my Father has had to put his pride and joy up for sale because, at the age of 86, he feels he can no longer maintain her.

He is the original owner of this Triumph which he bought, brand new, in August, 1965. It was used as his daily transport to and from work (and family holidays) until his retirement. It was then used solely for pleasure until he gave up driving last year. Since then, he has only started the car up and moved it up and down the road to keep it in running order. However, he feels he can no longer maintain the car, as he has done so over the years, and so, it is time to let her go to someone who will love her as much as we have.

My Father, being a mechanic, has always maintained this car as a working vehicle, as opposed to just a show piece, which is why it has kept remarkably well for a 52 year-old. However, age is taking it's toll and she is starting to deteriorate with rust bubbles forming at the nearside, bottom edge, of the front windscreen frame. Also, a rust mark, about 2 inches from the bottom of the drivers-side door, is starting to creep through. The rest of the panels are remarkably sound and rot free. All panels are original and, about four years ago, the outside of the body had a total respray which was finished off with a set of brand new white rubber bumpers. The paint has gone a bit flat but a good 'T' cut and polish will see the shine return.

The interior is a weak point of this car and it is now looking decidedly tired. The door and rear panel cards are fine for their age as my Father has had them covered in a transparent, plastic sheeting, since new to protect them. The drivers' seat really needs to be replaced as it is well worn but, the seats do have aftermarket seat covers fitted just to tidy them up a bit.

The original carpet has been removed as it was getting a bit threadbare. There is a brand new replacement, which we bought a few years ago, that we intended to fit but for the front seats.

Underneath the car has had some welding done in the past, as would be expected on a car of this age, but overall, it is good and solid.

Mechanically, she seems sound as I have driven it to and from the MoT station and, in this respect, the car comes with a full 12 months MoT.

So to summerise; a good, original car, with plenty of potential, that would be ideal for an enthusiast with the time and energy to bring her back to her deserving, former glory.

As this is a private sale it is being offered as is - an old classic car and it is priced to sell at £1, 595.
