- 1959 Goggomobil TS400 MK III S

- This is a completely original survivor car a 1959 GoggoMobil with a 395CC engine.

- Microcars have steadily grown in stature with the exposure they've been receiving at major auctions.

- Hagarty puts the value of a "Good," to "Excellent," Goggmobil TS400 at $27, 500 to $40, 000.

- The real value of a survivor like this little beauty, in today's preservation-crazy market may even surpass an "Excellent" value.

- These microcars just don't exist in this condition, with special attention paid to drivability while retaining it's originality.
- Little is known of the early history of this car.

- We do know that collector Mark Swift found this car and when he rebuilt the engine the parts to complete the rebuild were purchased from a well known Goggo parts supplier Uwe Staufenberg in Germany.

- In fact, upon completetion of this work Mr. Swift drove this TS400 to a special microcar show at the Lars Anderson Museum as can be evidenced from this YouTube video

- details above.

- Late in 2015, it was purchased by it's current owner and in mid 2016, the 395cc engine was completely rebuilt by marque expert Larry Newberry.

- The bumpers were recently refinished to protect from degradation. It was only under very careful consideration that was the refinishing of these parts carried out.

- It was thought better to keep the originals and even bring them back to their "as new" state, than lose them to the crust of time and be forced to replace them with reproductions.

- This is a wonderful little original patina car with character and presence that can't be "created".

- Comes with a binder full of receipts and paperwork.

- This beauty will steal the show at any car event.

Specs and history

- details above

Goggomobil was a series of microcars produced in the Bavarian town Dingolfing after World War II by Glas.

Glas produced three models on the Goggomobil platform: the Goggomobil T sedan, the Goggomobil TS coupé, and the Goggomobil TL van. The engine was an air-cooled, two-stroke, two-cylinder unit originally displacing 250 cc, but later available in increased sizes of 300 cc and 400 cc. It had an electric pre-selective transmission built by Getrag and a manual clutch. The engine was behind the rear wheels. Suspension was independent all round using coil springs with swing axles.

214, 313 sedans, 66, 511 coupés, and 3, 667 Transporter vans and pickups were built from 1955 to 1969.
